Professional services firm Arup has remained firmly in the forefront of innovative building and infrastructure design since 1946. Their Perth operations, dating back over 45 years, incorporates Arup’s vision for the future and an open-concept workspace in their new headquarters.

Spanning an entire floor in the CBD-located Exchange Tower, the space houses a reception area, an open-plan office, a common area and multiple meeting rooms. A minimalist palette of crisp black, red and white colours and timber accents help to define the space, while exposed beams and concrete floors add character.

To achieve the perfect lighting solution for each part of the office, a network of Premium luminaires were used. In the reception and common areas, the compact Horizon Track Lights are fitted with honeycomb lenses to reduce glare and provide ample comfortable lighting. In other areas of the office, the white-finished Titanium Surface Mounted Downlights are set amongst the exposed beams and work as a perfect complement to the concrete floors, directing illumination downwards to achieve a pleasant and productive ambience.

The Perth headquarters’ architectural combination of workspace design and lighting installations blend perfectly to enhance its surroundings. The result is a distinct atmosphere of striking beauty and clean elegance that serves as an example of Arup’s desire to change and shape the future of work and living.
